PRESS CLIPS

In the course of 18 months, Black Velvet Flag accumulated an exceptional amount of publicity. Most of it came in response to their performaces in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, DC and Chicago. They gained national attention after their appearance at the South-by-Southwest Music Festival in March of 1995, the launch of their only released album and from their West Coast tour in the summer of 1995. The most significant attention from critical response in the industry press came Rolling Stone Magazine, in their annual "Best Of..." selections. Rolling Stone awarded Black Velvet Flag the "Best Unsigned Band" for 1995.
