From the inception of the band, self-documentation was always practiced. As bassist Jeff Musser revealed in an interview in KGB magazine, they knew that if the band suceeded in gaining significan quick recognition, "there would be a precipitous fall" in interest. The idea for a documentary was born out of this realization. This was a band that foresaw its own demise, and was in a sense created for its own documentation as a comment on the cultural system that allowed it to suceed. While such premeditation might seem calculated, it succeeded at making a memorable impression at a time when getting recognition was extremely competitive. These are a selection of photographs that are both candid and posed.
